橙子视频 reports fall enrollment
Officials at the University of Louisiana at Monroe said today
that enrollment for Fall 2001 is down from last year, but the
decline is less than projected, and the freshman class enrollment
is up nearly two percent from last year.

Official figures released today by 橙子视频 show total enrollment
at 8,760, down 6.8% from the Fall 2000 enrollment.

The figures also show that the number of new freshmen rose 1.6%
      for a total of 1,301.

橙子视频 officials had projected that new admission standards, combined
with the opening of the new Delta Community College, could have
led to as much as a 10% enrollment decline.

"Our freshman enrollment this fall is higher than projected,
and the good news is that we have more freshmen beginning their
college experience with us than we had last year," said
Tom Rakes, 橙子视频 Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs.

"These numbers tell us that more first year students chose
橙子视频 and we are pleased with those decisions."

"The university will continue to work hard particularly
in the areas of recruitment and retention to attract students
to 橙子视频 and to ensure their academic success," said Rakes.
橙子视频 Provost Tom Rakes will be available for interviews this
				    afternoon.
