Social Studies Fair 2005 Winners
MONROE, La.--More than 500 students participated
      in the Region III Social Studies Fair held Thursday, March 24,
      in Fant-Ewing Coliseum at the University of Louisiana at Monroe.
      Individual projects placing first or second at the regional level
      in each of six social studies disciplines in all three divisions
      qualify for the state Social Studies Fair to be held in April
      in Baton Rouge. Group projects placing first in all disciplines
      also advance to the state fair.
      Region III comprises Caldwell, East Carroll, Franklin, Madison,
      Morehouse, Ouachita, Richland, Tensas and West Carroll Parishes.
      Not all places were awarded in each discipline. Region III winners
      were:
DIVISION I (Grades 4-6)
      Grand Prize Winners
Individual grand prize winner was Brianna
      Easter, Central Elementary. The individual grand prize runner-up
      was Taylor Van Coevening, Morehouse Magnet.
      Group grand prize winners were Spencer Perkins and Brett Gardner,
      Central Elementary. The group grand prize runners-up were Mary
      Lynn Alexander and Hanna Dobernig of Christian Home School Association.
