The Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education Board of Directors has approved continued accreditation for the University of Louisiana Monroe Doctor of Pharmacy program (PharmD). The ACPE reviewed the program at its June 20-23 meeting and made the announcement Monday.
The Doctor of Pharmacy program is accredited until June 30, 2022. The board removed
the probation qualifier to the program鈥檚 accreditation and restored its unqualified
                     accreditation.
Vice President of Academic Affairs Dr. Eric Pani said, "I am very pleased that the
ACPE board members viewed the actions we have taken favorably and restored the unqualified
accreditation of the PharmD program. Dean Anderson and his team are to be commended
                     for their actions and planning."
School of Pharmacy Dean Dr. Glenn Anderson joined the university in January and is
also pleased at the board's decision.
"The ACPE Board鈥檚 action to remove probationary status from our program is an affirmation
of the hard work and dedication of our faculty, staff, and students. I am pleased
by the board鈥檚 action, but more so I am proud of our university鈥檚 resilience and ability
to take action," Anderson said. "We heard the feedback and came together to address
                     the pharmacy program鈥檚 needs."

"News of the ACPE Board action is timely and beneficial. Our next recruitment cycle
begins in August. The current ACPE Board action reaffirms our program鈥檚 strength and
increases our drawing power for the best pharmacy student recruits in our region,"
                     he said.
