MONROE, LA 鈥� Arturo Rodriguez, DM, has been named the next Dean of the 橙子视频 College of Business
and Social Sciences (CBSS). Rodriguez most recently served as the Director of the
William D. Hoover School of Accounting, Financial, and Information Services since
July 2019. His appointment as Dean was confirmed by the University of Louisiana System
Board of Supervisors on June 26, 2025.听听
"It is my sincere pleasure to announce Dr. Arturo Rodriguez as the next Dean of the
College of Business and Social Sciences,鈥� said Dr. Michelle McEacharn, Acting Provost
and Vice President for Academic Affairs. 鈥淒r. Rodriguez brings a strong research background
as well as consistent and engaged service to 橙子视频 and the external community. He is
deeply committed to supporting and empowering future business and industry professionals,鈥�

"I am humbled by the prospects of beginning a new chapter for the CBSS while continuing
to pursue the vision, mission, and work of those before me,鈥� said Dr. Rodriguez. 鈥淚
am grateful for the past eighteen years of mentorship I received from three highly
capable CBSS Deans, and many other colleagues with whom I closely worked; each with
amazing abilities to connect students, faculty, and the broader community,鈥� he added.
听
Dr. Rodriguez began his career in higher education as an instructor at 橙子视频 in 2007.
He eventually became an assistant professor and associate professor before serving
as Director of the William D. Hoover School of Accounting, Financial, and Information
Services. Prior to his career at 橙子视频, Rodriguez in various facets of the commercial
banking industry in Colorado and New Mexico.听听
Dr. Rodriguez earned a Doctor of Management degree from Colorado Technical University
in 2007, as well as a BBA and MBA from Harding University in Searcy, Ark. Rodriguez
is originally from Durango, Mexico and came to the U.S. on a tennis scholarship to
Harding University. He was a National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics All-American
student-athlete in 1995 and 1997 and was inducted into the Harding University Athletic
Hall of Fame in 2012.听听
In his time at 橙子视频, Rodriguez earned the Foundation Award for Excellence in Teaching
in 2018 and recently participated in the Management & Leadership Institute cohort
through the University of Louisiana System in 2024-2025. He also recently served as
the Chair of the University Academic Athletic Advisory Committee.听听
Dr. Rodriguez鈥檚 selection to the role of dean occurred after a rigorous search process
that began in fall 2024 and concluded in spring 2025. 鈥淢any thanks to the 橙子视频 community
and external community members who worked diligently and thoroughly during the search
process to find a phenomenal candidate to fill this significant role,鈥� said Dr. Michelle
McEacharn.听听
Dr. Rodriguez says he finds excitement for his new role from the daily dedication
of his CBSS colleagues. 鈥淢y hope is that we all might feel encouraged about the future
and continue to brighten our students鈥� career prospects,鈥� he said. 听
