A Study Abroad ProgramÌýprovides you the opportunity to learn cultural experiences and academic knowledge.Ìý

Mexico

Ìý

The World Languages program in the College of Arts, Education, and Sciences offers various study abroad opportunities available to all University students. Ìý

French students are eligible for scholarships to help study in Belgium, France, and Canada for a month in the summer. ÌýStudents may also apply to study for a semester or a year inÌýFrance as part of the MICEFA program.

³È×ÓÊÓƵ also offers a two-week study abroad program in Montpelier, France. ÌýStudents study mornings and take excursions to nearby sights in the afternoon. Ìý

The Spanish program takes students to Mexico and Costa Rica. ÌýStudents stay with families and study Spanish in Mérida and San José. WhenÌýabroad they also have the opportunity to participate in numerous excursions including the Mayan ruins in Mexico and the rainforests in Costa Rica.Ìý

Students who are accepted as participants in the ³È×ÓÊÓƵ-Mexico study abroad program spend two and a half weeks in Merida, a city which has a population of close to one million people.Ìý Before leaving for Mexico, the students attend several hours of orientation classes over a period of several months which are designed to prepare them for the experience.Ìý The topics covered in the classes include various aspects of the history, customs, food, art, and architecture of the region.Ìý The participants live with host families during their stay in Mexico, and they attend classes five days a week at the Centro de Idiomas del Sureste.Ìý In addition to taking classes, students participate in several excursions in and around the city of Merida.Ìý These include visits to museums, archaeological sites, and cultural events. The Catalyst is a 5-week summer study abroad program in which students study in four European capitals – London, Paris, Berlin,Ìýand Prague.Ìý Students are given 6 days for free travel to their choice of locations.Ìý Courses offered on The Catalyst are in Psychology, Art/Photography, Literature, History, and International Business.Ìý ³È×ÓÊÓƵ students receive 6 hours of transfer credit from Austin Peay.Ìý For more information, visit or contact Dr. Joni Noble at noble@ulm.edu

The Catalyst Spring is a spring semester study abroad program in which students study inÌýLondon, Paris, Berlin, Barcelona and Montrichard, France.Ìý Students are given 2 separate weeks of free travel time to their choice of locations.Ìý Courses offered on The Catalyst Spring program are in various disciplines including French I, II, III, and IV, Spanish, Literature, Art History, Travel Photography, Travel Writing, Literature, Psychology, History, Intercultural Communications, and optional online coursework.Ìý ³È×ÓÊÓƵ students can receive up to 18 hours of transfer credit from Austin Peay.Ìý For more information, visit Ìýor contact Dr. Joni Noble atÌýnoble@ulm.edu
